An unexpectedly hard shot by Justino Polentzi in the 6th minute of play forced Cafayete FC's goalkeeper Ramon Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Mariano Stephen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bonifacio Artal. That made the score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. When Mariano Stephen came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Cafayete FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mariano Stephen couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Cafayete FC's Lucio Lopes got a free kick in the 26th minute. Ramon Santana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justino Polentzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Aurelio Gelacio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramon Santana having to interfere. Justino Polentzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Ramon Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, Tobar's goalkeeper Bonifacio Artal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Celedonio Barbosa.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Justino Polentzi was the one to do the kick off. Celedonio Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Bonifacio Artal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bonifacio Artal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Stephen in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 69th minute Celedonio Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bonifacio Artal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Justino Polentzi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tobar's supporters rose to their feet, but Justino Polentzi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramon Santana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cafayete FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tobar the free kick. In the 84th match minute, Cafayete FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Frasco to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute of the match, Justino Polentzi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ramon Santana saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ramon Santana made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Aurelio Gelacio sent off a good shot on target. 90 minutes into the game, Lucio Lopes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cafayete FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tobar the free kick. Lucio Lopes hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. 93 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cafayete FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Amador Venceslao was slow to take the kick. During this time Tobar's players had a chance to rest.
