The supporters of Colón booed when San Nicolas del Carril was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Elivareo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eriberto Petri hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Colón's Jimeno Lico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amancio Ixaka in the 12th minute of play. With his leg Hermengildo Firmin managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Colón's Omar Jakue fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Omar Jakue struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Hermengildo Firmin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colón. Julian Chuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Artemio Aballe fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Nicolas del Carril's protests and gave Artemio Aballe a yellow card for diving instead. When Leo Jaizki came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Colón fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leo Jaizki couldn't finish the play. Omar Jakue sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Chuan in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jimeno Lico prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Leo Jaizki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hermengildo Firmin was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. 35 minutes into the match, Colón's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Elivareo came free, but Jimeno Lico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Colón's Eriberto Petri got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Alvaro Tercero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Chuan made a kick off. In the 54th match minute, San Nicolas del Carril was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicanor Gonsalve to maneuver through the defense. If Leo Jaizki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute Modesto Luken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermengildo Firmin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leo Jaizki in the 58th minute of play forced San Nicolas del Carril's goalkeeper Hermengildo Firmin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Modesto Luken managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colón's supporters rose to their feet, but Modesto Luken was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hermengildo Firmin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Colón getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Rodrigo Ortzi hit a great ball. Alvaro Tercero might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hermengildo Firmin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alvaro Tercero ran back to his position shaking his head. Hermengildo Firmin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Jakue in the 66th minute of the match. Hermengildo Firmin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Omar Jakue in the 68th minute of play. Omar Jakue recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hermengildo Firmin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Omar Jakue's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. Leo Jaizki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Omar Jakue in the 78th minute of play forced San Nicolas del Carril's goalkeeper Hermengildo Firmin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 82 minutes of play San Nicolas del Carril's Igor Elivareo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Igor Elivareo kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Leo Jaizki managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eriberto Petri took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hermengildo Firmin. Hermengildo Firmin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When Colón's Omar Jakue in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye San Nicolas del Carril's goalie prevented a goal. There was no doubt that Colón were the better team. Colón's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
