Fernando Bikendi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Justino Maria went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 16 minutes into the match, Romulo Artizar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fernando Bikendi. Olavarría's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romulo Artizar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Melquiades Pepillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nereo Fraco having to interfere. With a little luck, Guemes Juniors's Nereo Fraco got control of the ball when Romeo Lluc tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fernando Bikendi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Justino Maria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Romulo Artizar in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernando Bikendi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 32nd minute, Justino Maria made a precise shot to the right of Fernando Bikendi. Olavarría's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. With a little luck, Guemes Juniors's Nereo Fraco got control of the ball when Romeo Lluc tried to sneak it across the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Melquiades Pepillo to make the kick off. Nereo Fraco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romeo Lluc's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Honorato Ferman during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 59th minute, Honorato Ferman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 61 played minutes, Olavarría's Ulises Baumar shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nereo Fraco came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Olavarría reached it. Nereo Fraco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeo Lluc, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. If Justino Maria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Arnaldo Ritchie fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guemes Juniors's protests and gave Arnaldo Ritchie a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Olavarría booed when Guemes Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnaldo Ritchie didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Romeo Lluc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Romulo Artizar scored 0-5 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernando Bikendi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Melquiades Pepillo in the 97th minute of play forced Guemes Juniors's goalkeeper Nereo Fraco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Guemes Juniors had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
