Romulo Artizar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silverio Lluterio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. When Romulo Artizar came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Guemes Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romulo Artizar couldn't finish the play. If Arnaldo Ritchie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julian Bernebe scored 1-3 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nereo Fraco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Guemes Juniors were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a rather tough play, Guemes Juniors's Baldomero Cresconio got a free kick in the 59th minute. The Vertientes AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. After 67 minutes, Anibal Gilabert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vertientes AFC and the Guemes Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Vertientes AFC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Anibal Gilabert hit a great ball. Romulo Artizar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Guemes Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. The supporters of Guemes Juniors booed when Vertientes AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Frantzes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Justino Maria succeeded in the game's 85th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-4.
