When Nicasio Mannie fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mollar's protests and gave Nicasio Mannie a yellow card for diving instead. Nicasio Mannie hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Fabricio Mogel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Clemente Fanuco went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. River Plate's Damian Araoz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andres Vellito in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Fanuco in the 18th minute of play forced Mollar's goalkeeper Fabricio Mogel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the game, Mollar's Marcelo Nafarroa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Damian Araoz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Damian Araoz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teofilo Gimenez, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mollar's zone, Mauricio Mercurio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabricio Mogel came out of the goal and Mauricio Mercurio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 35th minute, Ernesto Opilano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Ernesto Opilano kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fabricio Mogel. That made the score 3-2 in the 37 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Teofilo Gimenez was the one to do the kick off. Mauricio Mercurio kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After 56 played minutes Mollar got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Nafarroa. 59 minutes into the match, Mauricio Mercurio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fabricio Mogel. Mollar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mauricio Mercurio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. In the 63rd minute, Mauricio Mercurio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The River Plate fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. Ruperto Fonda charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ruperto Fonda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 68 minutes into the game, one of River Plate:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Damian Araoz, was totally fooled by Mollar's Amadeo Carrizo, who 70 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Nicasio Mannie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the match, River Plate's Clemente Fanuco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabricio Mogel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 79th minute Clemente Fanuco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabricio Mogel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82ndth minute of the game Clemente Fanuco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mollar's Fabricio Mogel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Damian Araoz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teofilo Gimenez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute Clemente Fanuco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabricio Mogel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard Karmel to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauricio Mercurio in the 91st minute of play forced Mollar's goalkeeper Fabricio Mogel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clemente Fanuco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabricio Mogel having to interfere.
