Alfonso Rios started the match with the kick off. In the 7th minute, Melquiades Pepillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paolo Ordono was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Romeo Lluc in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paolo Ordono prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Romeo Lluc's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paolo Ordono was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Paolo Ordono showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeo Lluc, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Cipriano Uhin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fernando Bikendi having to make a save. Paolo Ordono showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Melquiades Pepillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Melquiades Pepillo in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paolo Ordono prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 36 played minutes Timao CF got a freekick which was hit by Nicanor Lohitzun. After a defensive mix-up in Timao CF's zone, Romeo Lluc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paolo Ordono came out of the goal and Romeo Lluc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Romeo Lluc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Paolo Ordono tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Olavarría were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Melquiades Pepillo to strike the kick off in the second half. Fernando Bikendi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Rios, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 57 minutes, Hector Matthew mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Olavarría and the Timao CF players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Timao CF booed when Olavarría was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Matthew didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfonso Rios might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Bikendi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfonso Rios ran back to his position shaking his head. Cipriano Uhin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Bikendi having to interfere. Romeo Lluc came free with the goalkeeper in the 75th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Paolo Ordono could save by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfonso Rios in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernando Bikendi saved Olavarría from getting behind. Timao CF's Alfonso Rios got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 85 minutes into the match, Cipriano Uhin notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Olavarría's Fernando Bikendi. Fernando Bikendi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 90 minutes into the match, Olavarría's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Rios came free, but Fernando Bikendi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paolo Ordono showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melquiades Pepillo in the 95th minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
