When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Clemente Fanuco put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Norberto Ospin. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Omar Primeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damian Araoz came out of the goal and Omar Primeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ruperto Fonda charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ruperto Fonda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 13 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Ruperto Fonda. Damian Araoz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clodoveo Quirze in the 16th minute of play. Ignacio Arnas charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ignacio Arnas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ignacio Arnas kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Ernesto Opilano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Norberto Ospin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Norberto Ospin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Opilano, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Cuervit0's Norberto Ospin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Opilano in the 24th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Clodoveo Quirze came free, but Damian Araoz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 31 minutes, Clemente Fanuco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clemente Fanuco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37th minute, Clemente Fanuco made a precise shot to the right of Norberto Ospin. Cuervit0's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Norberto Ospin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clemente Fanuco in the 41st minute of play. After the first half River Plate were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Damian Araoz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clodoveo Quirze in the 53rd minute of the match. Damian Araoz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clodoveo Quirze, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute Omar Primeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damian Araoz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57thth minute of the game Clemente Fanuco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cuervit0's Norberto Ospin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the last second Norberto Ospin throw himself and got hold of the ball when Clemente Fanuco in the 62ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Clemente Fanuco in the 64thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Norberto Ospin, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Clemente Fanuco took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Norberto Ospin. Norberto Ospin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 70th minute, Santo Giraldo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Norberto Ospin came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate's Clemente Fanuco. But to his dismay, Clemente Fanuco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Angelo Salvidor hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the game, Cuervit0's Albino Quinto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Damian Araoz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Clemente Fanuco in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norberto Ospin saved Cuervit0 from getting behind. If Ernesto Opilano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Mauricio Mercurio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Clemente Fanuco managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Clemente Fanuco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norberto Ospin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Cuervit0 booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauricio Mercurio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cuervit0's Norberto Ospin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Opilano in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th minute River Plate were awarded a corner. Evaristo Primeiro went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on River Plate's corner Evaristo Primeiro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Norberto Ospin quite easily take care of the ball. In the 96th minute, Mauricio Mercurio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched River Plate eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
