The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 7 minutes, Maximino Ishmael mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Parque Chacabuco FC and the S.A.R.A. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 6th minute of the game. One of Parque Chacabuco FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of S.A.R.A.:s goal. S.A.R.A. were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after Parque Chacabuco FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Felix Rosalio took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Felix Rosalio got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kayhan Behram quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Sebastian Abreu scored 0-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Placide Hottiger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 21 minutes into the match, S.A.R.A.'s goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Umea came free, but Placide Hottiger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Parque Chacabuco FC's Kayhan Behram proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Parque Chacabuco FC from getting a goal against them. Placide Hottiger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Umea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Umea in the 28th minute of play forced S.A.R.A.'s goalkeeper Placide Hottiger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Placide Hottiger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximino Ishmael in the 39th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Bastian in the 45th minute of play forced S.A.R.A.'s goalkeeper Placide Hottiger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Parque Chacabuco FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rodolfo Umea made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Marcelo Petri managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.A.R.A.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Marcelo Petri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kayhan Behram breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 55th minute Rodolfo Umea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Placide Hottiger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
