With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benjamin Pancho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Amado Oriche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute, Leopoldo Gentza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Serafino Elia managed to get in a good position for a shot. MERSA F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Serafino Elia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eleuterio Gaizkine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Serafino Elia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rogelio Urtats fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Pancho having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Benjamin Pancho came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by SANTOS F.C.'s Rogelio Urtats. But to his dismay, Rogelio Urtats quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After having played for 58 minutes, Serafino Elia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MERSA F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Serafino Elia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serafino Elia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rogelio Urtats struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Benjamin Pancho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SANTOS F.C.. Benjamin Pancho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amado Oriche in the 66th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, MERSA F.C.'s Leopoldo Gentza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eleuterio Gaizkine narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amado Oriche in the 73rd minute of play forced MERSA F.C.'s goalkeeper Benjamin Pancho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benjamin Pancho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Urtats in the 75th minute of play. If Amado Oriche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute Leopoldo Gentza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eleuterio Gaizkine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the game, Amado Oriche cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Benjamin Pancho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
