After 3 played minutes Gimnasia CdelU got a freekick which was hit by Pablo Quentin. 21 minutes into the match, Pocitos's goalkeeper Eloy Herrera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gil Donatello. Pablo Quentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Herrera having to interfere. In the 23rd match minute, Pocitos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abelardo Berriotxoa to maneuver through the defense. Gil Donatello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gimnasia CdelU's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Abel Eutropio in the 37th minute. Eloy Herrera came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Gimnasia CdelU's Gil Donatello. But to his dismay, Gil Donatello quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Gil Donatello made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Gil Donatello cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Eloy Herrera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 55 minutes into the match, Gil Donatello had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eloy Herrera. Pocitos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gil Donatello was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Gil Donatello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gimnasia CdelU's supporters rose to their feet, but Gil Donatello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eloy Herrera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leonides Gudesteo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Eloy Herrera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eloy Herrera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pablo Quentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Pablo Quentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th match minute, Gimnasia CdelU was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger van Gastel to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger van Gastel in the 70th minute of play forced Pocitos's goalkeeper Eloy Herrera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute Gil Donatello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Herrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gil Donatello scored 6-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eloy Herrera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gil Donatello blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eloy Herrera having to make a save. In the 80th match minute, Gimnasia CdelU was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pablo Quentin to maneuver through the defense. Gimnasia CdelU's Gil Donatello got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pocitos's Eloy Herrera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pablo Quentin in the 88th minute of play. In the 89th minute Gil Donatello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Herrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Abel Eutropio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gil Donatello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Herrera having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Gimnasia CdelU fully deserved thier win.
