But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Gai couldn't finish the play. Placido Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simon Lordi, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. If Simon Lordi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Simon Lordi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Placido Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ciriaco Formerio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. La de siempre FC's Augusto Rodriguez got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Simon Lordi struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Placido Velasco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La de siempre FC. After a rather tough play, Grüttly AFC's Gerardo Leocadio got a free kick in the 71st minute. A very good chance. 93 minutes into the match, Nestor Cebo notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of La de siempre FC's Enzo Telesforo. Enzo Telesforo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
