Godofredo Mogel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rigoberto Gaufred in the 27th minute of play forced GimnasiayEsgrima La Plata's goalkeeper Godofredo Mogel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Rigoberto Gaufred got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leonardo Raymundo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Godofredo Mogel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Zacarias Hegoi fired away a shot on goal. Santos Petrigai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ariel Manilan, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

GimnasiayEsgrima La Plata's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Miguel Gutierrez in the 57th minute. The corner ended in Miguel Gutierrez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Instituto de Cordoba's Santos Petrigai did a great save. Ariel Manilans short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Santos Petrigai to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in GimnasiayEsgrima La Plata's zone, Zacarias Hegoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Godofredo Mogel came out of the goal and Zacarias Hegoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Instituto de Cordoba's Zacarias Hegoi, in the 63rd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Instituto de Cordoba. If Rigoberto Gaufred had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68thth minute of the game Rigoberto Gaufred who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GimnasiayEsgrima La Plata's Godofredo Mogel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in GimnasiayEsgrima La Plata's zone, Rigoberto Gaufred stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Godofredo Mogel came out of the goal and Rigoberto Gaufred tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Godofredo Mogel came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Instituto de Cordoba's Rigoberto Gaufred. But to his dismay, Rigoberto Gaufred quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Rigoberto Gaufred received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Godofredo Mogel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Instituto de Cordoba booed when GimnasiayEsgrima La Plata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evelio Blanco didn't get a good kick on the ball. There was no doubt that Instituto de Cordoba were the better team. Instituto de Cordoba's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
