The Brinkmann fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aquiles Ermengol should have stopped the shot. After having played for 11 minutes, Joaquin Rufio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Arco C.D. Villa Gesell's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joaquin Rufio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aquiles Ermengol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Bela, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Ceferino Perrando kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. If Jose Bela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute, Siro Guerrero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aaron Faron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guaberto Gaitan having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Brinkmann's zone, Jose Bela stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aquiles Ermengol came out of the goal and Jose Bela tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Joaquin Rufio came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the El Arco C.D. Villa Gesell fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquin Rufio couldn't finish the play. Guaberto Gaitan made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Aaron Faron sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of El Arco C.D. Villa Gesell booed when Brinkmann was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paolo Orkatz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jose Bela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquiles Ermengol having to interfere. If Joaquin Rufio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jose Bela succeeded in the game's 42nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. If Joaquin Rufio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Joaquin Rufio ran back to his position shaking his head. If Joaquin Rufio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Froilan Pueblo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 59 minutes into the match. 59 minutes into the game, one of El Arco C.D. Villa Gesell:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Aquiles Ermengol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Bela in the 65th minute of play. Aquiles Ermengol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingo Basualdo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jose Bela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Aquiles Ermengol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leopoldo Quinto charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leopoldo Quinto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Jose Bela came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the El Arco C.D. Villa Gesell fans jumped to their feet. Astor Suarez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquiles Ermengol having to interfere. In the 89th minute Jose Bela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquiles Ermengol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aquiles Ermengol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Bela in the 98th minute of play. El Arco C.D. Villa Gesell were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
