Astor Elazar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Santo Rito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Segio in the 14th minute of the match. Cecilio Rosalio took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Santo Rito. Santo Rito dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Melba's Ivan Segio got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ivan Segio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santo Rito having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Astor Elazar managed to get in a good position for a shot. elasmopalpus's supporters rose to their feet, but Astor Elazar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rogelio Jeraldo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Omar Chan hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Astor Elazar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Romulo Fernandes struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Rogelio Jeraldo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for elasmopalpus. In the 68th minute Astor Elazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogelio Jeraldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cecilio Rosalio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Santo Rito read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. In the 76th minute, Romulo Fernandes made a precise shot to the right of Rogelio Jeraldo. Melba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. If Romulo Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melba's Ivan Segio got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Melba's zone, Astor Elazar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogelio Jeraldo came out of the goal and Astor Elazar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 98 minutes into the match, Melba's goal looked a bit too open when Astor Elazar came free, but Rogelio Jeraldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Melba succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though elasmopalpus had controlled the match.
