Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Melchor Pio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Orlando Cordara in the 15th minute. Eduardo Mambru hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Orlando Cordara struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Melchor Pio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Doncella de Hierro. When Eduardo Mambru fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gowland's protests and gave Eduardo Mambru a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Gowland getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Eduardo Mambru hit a great ball. Melchor Pio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Orlando Cordara in the 28th minute. If Nereo Servando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaspar Umbruso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorenzo Estevez, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orlando Cordara got free with Melchor Pio in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nereo Servando in the 39th minute of play forced Doncella de Hierro's goalkeeper Gaspar Umbruso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gaspar Umbruso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorenzo Estevez, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. In the 47th minute Nereo Servando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaspar Umbruso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The Doncella de Hierro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After 69 played minutes, Doncella de Hierro's Ladislao Medina shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Melchor Pio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Doncella de Hierro reached it. Melchor Pio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Cordara in the 71st minute of the match. With a little luck, Doncella de Hierro's Gaspar Umbruso got control of the ball when Nereo Servando tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gaspar Umbruso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Doncella de Hierro's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
