The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lorenzo Estevez couldn't finish the play. Gowland's Lorenzo Estevez got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Reynaldo Leocadio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Melchor Pio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Gowland's Godofredo Poz got a free kick in the 21st minute. If Fermin Lobo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Melchor Pio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Leocadio, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After 37 minutes, Albano Gudesteo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Balvanera and the Gowland players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Deportivo Balvanera fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 36th minute. Penalty!

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lorenzo Estevez to make the kick off. Reynaldo Leocadio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Melchor Pio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Balvanera's zone, Nereo Servando stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tobias Loren came out of the goal and Nereo Servando tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Melchor Pio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fermin Lobo's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportivo Balvanera's goalkeeper Tobias Loren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fermin Lobo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melchor Pio having to interfere. The Gowland supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Deportivo Balvanera's performance. The match ended with a win for Deportivo Balvanera.
