Spectators: 7083 (Terracing: 5421, Seating: 1662, VIP seats: 0) Velloso's Damaso Galindo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Roberto Manuelo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Desiderio Maurino having to interfere. Desiderio Maurino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delmar Goyo, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. If Delmar Goyo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Butumbele's Hipolito Refugio got a free kick in the 9th minute. Damaso Galindo struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Jaime Ralondo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Velloso. The attack was good, but when Damaso Galindo in the 12th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 15thth minute of the game Roberto Manuelo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Velloso's Desiderio Maurino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Butumbele's zone, Leo Torres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Ralondo came out of the goal and Leo Torres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carmelo Matai hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 22 minutes into the match, Butumbele's goalkeeper Jaime Ralondo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leo Torres. Desiderio Maurino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roberto Manuelo's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Delmar Goyo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Butumbele's Carmelo Matai got a free kick in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roberto Manuelo in the 41st minute of play forced Velloso's goalkeeper Desiderio Maurino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Norberto Jusepe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the game, Roberto Manuelo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Desiderio Maurino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Roberto Manuelo made the kick off in the second half. Delmar Goyo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Desiderio Maurino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Desiderio Maurino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Delmar Goyo in the 59th minute. If Roberto Manuelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. Jaime Ralondo came out of the goal and Santo Gotzon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 76th minute, Damaso Galindo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Velloso's Damaso Galindo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jaime Ralondo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Leo Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 89th minute Leo Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Ralondo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leo Torres blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jaime Ralondo having to make a save.
