Mauricio Policarpio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Sergi having to interfere. A collision led to Carolina getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Jacinto Mancio hit a great ball. When Mauricio Policarpio came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Gallinas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauricio Policarpio couldn't finish the play. In the 26th minute, Genaro Xacintu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Elias Sergi. The goal made the score 2-0. After a rather tough play, Carolina's Jacinto Mancio got a free kick in the 29th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Mauricio Policarpio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gallinas's supporters rose to their feet, but Mauricio Policarpio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elias Sergi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Anier Noe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jacinto Mancio fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carolina's protests and gave Jacinto Mancio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 40th minute, Jacinto Mancio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute Esteban Millano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amador Teyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Carolina's goal looked a bit too open when Mauricio Policarpio came free, but Elias Sergi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Genaro Xacintu struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Elias Sergi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gallinas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteban Millano in the 69th minute of play forced Gallinas's goalkeeper Amador Teyo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carolina's Elias Sergi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauricio Policarpio in the 71st minute of play. Gallinas's Genaro Xacintu got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Gallinas had played much better football throughout.
