Cavanagh's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Ezequiel Abascal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luis Naelio. Cavanagh's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ezequiel Abascal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Nicasio Bazkoare succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 25th playminute. Fernan Bizen helped the player get up and apologised. After 45 played minutes Cavanagh got a freekick which was hit by Fernan Bizen. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jesus Sengrat to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Nicasio Bazkoare managed to get in a good position for a shot.
