After 8 minutes of play, Cavanagh's Nicasio Bazkoare made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maximino Pirro was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 11thth minute of the game Jesus Sengrat who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paternal FC's Maximino Pirro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesus Sengrat in the 13th minute of play forced Paternal FC's goalkeeper Maximino Pirro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maximino Pirro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jesus Sengrat in the 15th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Jesus Sengrat made a precise shot to the right of Maximino Pirro. Paternal FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Luis Naelio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaudencio Urtun in the 28th minute of play. Paternal FC's Maximino Pirro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesus Sengrat in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th minute, Jesus Sengrat ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Maximino Pirro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Jesus Sengrat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicasio Bazkoare struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Maximino Pirro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cavanagh. 48 minutes into the game, Cavanagh's Jesus Sengrat nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maximino Pirro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. The Paternal FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cavanagh were winning 0-5.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jesus Sengrat to make the kick off. Gaudencio Urtun scored 1-5 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luis Naelio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Paternal FC's Filomeno Silvanito got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cavanagh's Luis Naelio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaudencio Urtun in the 61st minute of play. The supporters of Paternal FC booed when Cavanagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernan Bizen didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes into the game, Jacobo Ur was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cavanagh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paternal FC the free kick. After 65 played minutes Cavanagh got a freekick which was hit by Jacobo Ur. Luis Naelio came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Paternal FC's Gaudencio Urtun. But to his dismay, Gaudencio Urtun quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. Luis Naelio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filomeno Silvanito, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Fernan Bizen charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernan Bizen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 74 played minutes Cavanagh got a freekick which was hit by Fernan Bizen. In the 78th minute Gaudencio Urtun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Naelio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Naelio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filomeno Silvanito, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 92nd minute, Gaudencio Urtun left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paternal FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-5. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cavanagh had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
