Pastillos's Cleto Menendo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guillermo Illan in the 29th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Magdalena's Julio Celio got a free kick in the 31st minute. Magdalena's Orlando Duardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Corderun in the 32nd minute of play. Cleto Menendo didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 33rd minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. With a little luck, Pastillos's Cleto Menendo got control of the ball when Artemio Demario tried to sneak it across the goal line. After taking down the ball on Pastillos's corner Ernesto Peli fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Orlando Duardo quite easily take care of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Guillermo Illan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luisito Salomone charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luisito Salomone the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Magdalena's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artemio Demario was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pastillos's Anier Gasteiz got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Magdalena booed when Pastillos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonides Berto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Magdalena's Juan Rexino broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Artemio Demario fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cleto Menendo having to interfere. Cleto Menendo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guillermo Illan in the 85th minute of the match. In the 89thth minute of the game Guillermo Illan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pastillos's Cleto Menendo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Magdalena booed when Pastillos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonides Berto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cleto Menendo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Demario, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guillermo Illan in the 93rd minute of play forced Pastillos's goalkeeper Cleto Menendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Artemio Demario in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cleto Menendo saved Pastillos from getting behind. Magdalena's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
