Joaquin Valerio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ebardo having to interfere. The supporters of Real Palermo booed when C.A BOCA JUNIOR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natalio Cilio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Real Palermo's goalkeeper Vinicio Cristofol, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 38th minute, Leon Merexildo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Real Palermo's zone, Leon Merexildo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rigoberto Cordeara got free with Jonathan Ebardo in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 83 minutes, Rigoberto Cordeara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Palermo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rigoberto Cordeara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. C.A BOCA JUNIOR's Jonathan Ebardo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save C.A BOCA JUNIOR from getting a goal against them.
