Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elias Calisto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elias Calisto succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 13th playminute. In the 17thth minute of the game Elias Calisto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ballycastle Bats's Silvestre Gaur was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 19th minute, Gaston Jacob left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ballycastle Bats fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 28 minutes of play, Ballycastle Bats's Gaston Jacob made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Godofredo Librado was left in no man's land by his defense there! Primitivo Gagriel hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Ballycastle Bats were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after Independiente's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ulises Salamon took the corner. The Ballycastle Bats fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silvestre Gaur should have stopped the shot. Celso Jaunzuria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Silvestre Gaur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Salvador Urtzi's late challenge caught a Ballycastle Bats's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Salvador Urtzi helped the player get up and apologised. After 72 played minutes Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Salvador Urtzi.
