In the 22nd minute, Pascual Iraitz reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Anselmo Quintun. The goal made the score 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascual Iraitz in the 26th minute of play forced Matheu AFC's goalkeeper Anselmo Quintun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anselmo Quintun was a little too slow when Pascual Iraitz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 4-0. 37 minutes into the match, Preston North End's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Terciero came free, but Bartolo Rufo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anselmo Quintun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pascual Iraitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Leopoldo Cordeal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matheu AFC's Anselmo Quintun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ladislao Olentzaro in the 68th minute of play. Anselmo Quintun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo Raebert, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Anselmo Quintun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teobaldo Piearres's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Jairo Raebert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Quintun having to interfere. Matheu AFC's Anselmo Quintun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pascual Iraitz in the 88th minute of play. In the 89th minute Ladislao Olentzaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Quintun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leopoldo Cordeal charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leopoldo Cordeal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Leopoldo Cordeal hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After having played for 94 minutes, Adan Bordat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matheu AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adan Bordat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Preston North End's Bartolo Rufo got control of the ball when Emanuel Terciero tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 97 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Matheu AFC! Preston North End's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
