PENAYOFC's Alfredo Intxixu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arsenio Adrio in the 27th minute of play. After 29 minutes, Herminio Eliu made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Defensores de Belgrano's Joel Ermano tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Herminio Eliu in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joel Ermano saved Defensores de Belgrano from getting behind. PENAYOFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aristides Behe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jacobo Pedroso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Herminio Eliu made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Defensores de Belgrano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victoriano Bernabel to maneuver through the defense. If Tomás Ekain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. PENAYOFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
