After a defensive mix-up in Goldney AFC's zone, Leo Quico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bonifacio Arias came out of the goal and Leo Quico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 10 minutes into the game, Marciano Uzuri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The audience was convinced that Leo Quico's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bonifacio Arias was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Goldney AFC's Constantino Seme got a free kick in the 14th minute. Romulo Leguizamón was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 15th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Pedro Dorio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute, Vinicio Ledesma got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leo Quico struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Bonifacio Arias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CALERA. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leo Quico in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bonifacio Arias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Leo Quico struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Bonifacio Arias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CALERA. Vinicio Ledesma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Godwin Xuereb managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when Goldney AFC's Fernando Lopes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Vinicio Ledesma might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Godwin Xuereb. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vinicio Ledesma ran back to his position shaking his head. Pedro Dorio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leo Quico to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Goldney AFC's Leonel Pinto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Godwin Xuereb narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 56 minutes, Pedro Dorio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CALERA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Dorio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leo Quico in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. The supporters of CALERA booed when Goldney AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Roldan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Godwin Xuereb having to interfere. Vinicio Ledesma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Godwin Xuereb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to CALERA getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Honorato Chorche hit a great ball. Godwin Xuereb showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinicio Ledesma in the 91st minute of the match. CALERA played a much better game than Goldney AFC and deserved their victory. The Goldney AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
