Spectators: 7250 (Terracing: 5439, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 144) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tomás Ospin kicked off to start the match. Delmar Eyague kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 5th minute, Filiberto Abad left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tatay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Maximiliano Tallia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomás Ospin's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Carlos Vincent fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaias Baleren having to interfere. After some careless play in the Tatay defense, Clemente Martinez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isaias Baleren. The Tatay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isaias Baleren should have stopped the shot. In the 29th minute Filiberto Abad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximiliano Tallia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Carlos Vincent came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Salto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Vincent couldn't finish the play. In the 37th minute, Feliciano Abeijon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gaston Abadie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Vincent was the one to do the kick off. Isaias Baleren didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Clemente Martinez went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 62nd minute, Hector Gasteiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Tadeo Ler came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Tatay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tadeo Ler couldn't finish the play. Maximiliano Tallia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alonzo Bermudo, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Tatay's zone, Hector Gasteiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isaias Baleren came out of the goal and Hector Gasteiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Salto walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
