Evaristo Rius charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evaristo Rius the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 7th match minute, Arroyito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo Rius to maneuver through the defense. After 9 played minutes Arroyito got a freekick which was hit by Christian Claus. In the 20th minute Christian Claus suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. After a defensive mix-up in Arroyito's zone, Carlos Vincent stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Tadzio came out of the goal and Carlos Vincent tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Clemente Martinez was the one to do the kick off. Jaime Tadzio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimeno Venceslas in the 52nd minute of play. Jimeno Venceslas got his second yellow card in the match during the 53rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 54 played minutes Salto got a freekick which was hit by Jimeno Venceslas. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodolfo Mattin during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 57 minutes, Delmar Eyague mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salto and the Arroyito players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 58th minute, Delmar Eyague hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maximiliano Tallia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Samuel Montrel in the 60th minute. 65 minutes into the game, Arroyito's Samuel Montrel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maximiliano Tallia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A collision led to Arroyito getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Melchor Artal hit a great ball. Salto's Maximiliano Tallia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Salto from getting a goal against them. Carlos Vincent fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Tadzio having to interfere. When Roman Veremundo fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arroyito's protests and gave Roman Veremundo a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Arroyito's Roman Veremundo got a free kick in the 79th minute. 87 minutes into the game, Alfonso Egoi threw the ball into play from the sideline. Salto's Carlos Vincent quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Carlos Vincent received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Jaime Tadzio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gaston Abadie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Salto lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
