The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 7th minute of the game. One of Racing Club:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Talacasto FC:s goal. Flavio Telesforo shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 12th minute, Zacarias Perutxo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 15th minute Moises Guillerme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Gasteiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leon Gasteiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Guillerme in the 20th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Alfredo Umbruso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leon Gasteiz. Talacasto FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfredo Umbruso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Roman Eneto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Efrain Kaxen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Umbruso in the 34th minute of play forced Talacasto FC's goalkeeper Leon Gasteiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute, Roberto Raebert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 41 minutes, Roberto Raebert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Talacasto FC and the Racing Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Talacasto FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Roberto Raebert hit a great ball. Racing Club's Justo Frutos couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Talacasto FC. Leon Gasteiz came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Racing Club's Moises Guillerme. But to his dismay, Moises Guillerme quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After the first half Racing Club were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roman Eneto made a kick off. If Roman Eneto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 55 minutes into the match, Talacasto FC's goalkeeper Leon Gasteiz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo Umbruso. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Zacarias Perutxo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Talacasto FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zacarias Perutxo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Efrain Kaxen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Talacasto FC booed when Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roman Cidro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Efrain Kaxen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roman Eneto in the 65th minute of the match. Moises Guillerme struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Leon Gasteiz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Racing Club. After 71 played minutes Talacasto FC got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Raebert. Roman Eneto's late challenge caught a Racing Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roman Eneto helped the player get up and apologised. After 73 played minutes Talacasto FC got a freekick which was hit by Roman Eneto. Zacarias Perutxo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st match minute, Talacasto FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fidel Locaio to maneuver through the defense.
