Aaron Romelio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aquiles Ixona having to make a save. Rogelio Lorien struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Arturo Christobal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esparta. Rogelio Lorien's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arturo Christobal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Aquiles Ixona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aaron Romelio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aaron Romelio might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aquiles Ixona. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aaron Romelio ran back to his position shaking his head. After 21 minutes, Ezequiel Dabi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esparta and the Pichaihué players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ezequiel Dabi hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. If Albano Eron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Esparta getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Ciro Llorenc hit a great ball. Guido Cordera's late challenge caught a Esparta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guido Cordera helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Esparta booed when Pichaihué was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guido Cordera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aquiles Ixona showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albano Eron in the 35th minute of the match. Aquiles Ixona stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albano Eron's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. 39 minutes into the game, Pichaihué's Aaron Romelio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aquiles Ixona made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 42 played minutes Esparta got a freekick which was hit by Roman Mel. With an all-out effort, Esparta's Arturo Christobal threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Pascual Pinto, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The Esparta players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Pichaihué were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Albano Eron stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Esparta's zone, Aaron Romelio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aquiles Ixona came out of the goal and Aaron Romelio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aquiles Ixona showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albano Eron, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. With an all-out effort, Pichaihué's Aquiles Ixona threw himself towards the right post 59 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Albano Eron, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Guido Cordera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albano Eron in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aquiles Ixona prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 71 minutes, Ciro Llorenc mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esparta and the Pichaihué players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 72nd match minute, Esparta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Llorenc to maneuver through the defense. Aquiles Ixona acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 72nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jesus Bermudo. Esparta's Aquiles Ixona played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albano Eron in the 74th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Aaron Romelio notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Esparta's Aquiles Ixona. Aquiles Ixona was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 83 played minutes Pichaihué got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Romelio. Albano Eron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquiles Ixona having to interfere. Aquiles Ixona made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albano Eron in the 89th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Ezequiel Dabi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded Pichaihué left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Esparta.
