Marcelino Lorencio took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eloy Osorio. Eloy Osorio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Eloy Osorio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narciso Gabon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Aimar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benjamin Aritza, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Leonel Ikatz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alberto Aimar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Leonel Ikatz notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Nottingham Miedo FC's Alberto Aimar. Alberto Aimar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Narciso Gabon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eloy Osorio having to make a save. If Narciso Gabon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. River Plate's Benjamin Aritza got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benjamin Aritza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Alberto Aimar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benjamin Aritza to strike the kick off in the second half. Marcelino Lorencio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Eloy Osorio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alejo Froylan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Osorio having to interfere. Benjamin Aritza struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Alberto Aimar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Plate. Marcelino Lorencio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute of the match, Narciso Gabon got a very nice opportunity to score, but Eloy Osorio was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 94th minute Marcelino Lorencio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Osorio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
