Hermengildo Otsoa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Eloy Osorio made a huge save. 32 minutes into the game, Iker Rami was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River Plate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saint Laurent the free kick. In the 32nd match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iker Rami to maneuver through the defense. Leonel Ikatz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Benjamin Aritza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joel Oso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

In the 54th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimiro Lehior to maneuver through the defense. Eloy Osorio came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Saint Laurent's Hermengildo Otsoa. But to his dismay, Hermengildo Otsoa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Leonel Ikatz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hermengildo Otsoa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eloy Osorio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Saint Laurent's goalkeeper Joel Oso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leonel Ikatz. If Santos Eate had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santos Eate struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Eloy Osorio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saint Laurent. Santos Eate might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eloy Osorio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Santos Eate ran back to his position shaking his head. 87 minutes into the game, Edelmiro Urtun was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River Plate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saint Laurent the free kick. In the 87th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edelmiro Urtun to maneuver through the defense. Saint Laurent's Joel Oso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Saint Laurent from getting a goal against them. There was no doubt that Saint Laurent were the better team. Saint Laurent's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
