This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Rogelio Maureo as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Fabian Gabon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabian Gabon couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 71st minute of the match, Eustacio Pacho got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ciro Jurdan was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 73 minutes into the game, one of Echagüe Fútbol Club:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ezequiel Mateus walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. There was no doubt that Independiente Beltran were the better team. Independiente Beltran's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
