Ivan Ostargi came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Malvinas Argentinas's Geronimo Pierres. But to his dismay, Geronimo Pierres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ismael Lastur during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ismael Lastur kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Ivan Ostargi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvestre Maurino, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Malvinas Argentinas's Cirilo Ponce got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd minute, Geronimo Pierres left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Malvinas Argentinas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Javier Tadzio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Javier Perez having to interfere. After the first half Malvinas Argentinas were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Javier Tadzio was the one to do the kick off. If Gaston Cordarrel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baltasar Abilio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Javier Perez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esteve Quinteros was shown his second yellow card after 62 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. When the match was over Malvinas Argentinas could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Martínez throughout the match.
