In the 9th minute Lisandro Aureo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeo Truylos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ovidio Eneko's late challenge caught a Defensores del Sur's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ovidio Eneko helped the player get up and apologised. With a little luck, Iruya's Fidel Eliazar got control of the ball when Efrain Umea tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jimeno Luar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Fidel Eliazar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 17 played minutes Iruya got a freekick which was hit by Godfredo Montrell. In the 18th minute, Jimeno Luar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Defensores del Sur booed when Iruya was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Astigar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Epifanio Maurin hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute of the match Iruya got a corner. Defensores del Sur's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Godfredo Montrell ran over to the corner to take the kick. Iruya's Godfredo Montrell was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Romeo Truylos in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Godfredo Montrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cipriano Markel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fidel Eliazar. Iruya's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Romeo Truylos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damaso Ederono, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Fidel Eliazar didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 34th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. After having played for 44 minutes, Jimeno Luar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Defensores del Sur's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jimeno Luar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 54th minute of the match, Lisandro Aureo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Romeo Truylos was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lisandro Aureo got free with Romeo Truylos in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Iruya booed when Defensores del Sur was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimeno Luar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hermengildo Etxekopar hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute, Lisandro Aureo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Iruya fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Defensores del Sur's Romeo Truylos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damaso Ederono in the 70th minute of play. After 76 played minutes Iruya got a freekick which was hit by Godfredo Montrell. When Hermengildo Etxekopar fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Defensores del Sur's protests and gave Hermengildo Etxekopar a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Defensores del Sur getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Hermengildo Etxekopar hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 81 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Jimeno Luar sped through Iruya's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fidel Eliazar. Godfredo Montrell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeo Truylos having to interfere. Defensores del Sur's Romeo Truylos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Astigar in the 91st minute of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
