Jimeno Luar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jimeno Luar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidel Joseph having to interfere. Israel Ibar hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Defensores del Sur's Jimeno Luar got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bruno Lando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Fidel Joseph tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jimeno Luar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 25 minutes into the game, Astor Frances cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Romeo Truylos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jimeno Luar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidel Joseph having to interfere. Geronimo Nazario shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After a rather tough play, lanus fc's Geronimo Nazario got a free kick in the 44th minute. Justo Hotz's late challenge caught a Defensores del Sur's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Justo Hotz helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to lanus fc getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Justo Hotz hit a great ball. After the first half lanus fc were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Jimeno Luar made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Jimeno Luar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fidel Joseph was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. 57 minutes into the match, Bruno Lando had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fidel Joseph. lanus fc's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bruno Lando was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 61st minute Severiano Segio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeo Truylos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romeo Truylos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severiano Segio in the 63rd minute of the match. If Severiano Segio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jimeno Luar in the 66th minute of play forced lanus fc's goalkeeper Fidel Joseph to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Defensores del Sur's Romeo Truylos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severiano Segio in the 68th minute of play. With a little luck, Defensores del Sur's Romeo Truylos got control of the ball when Astor Frances tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Astor Frances got free with Romeo Truylos in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 72nd match minute, Defensores del Sur was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimeno Luar to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th play minute Astor Frances came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Romeo Truylos. 1-2. After 78 minutes of play, Defensores del Sur's Efrain Umea made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fidel Joseph was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 84 minutes, Severiano Segio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the lanus fc and the Defensores del Sur players grew even worse after the yellow card. Severiano Segio hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
