In the 11th minute, Vicente Felipo made a precise shot to the right of Nemesio Lore. Los Andes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Gogo Gaztea took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nemesio Lore. Nemesio Lore dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Los Andes's Nemesio Lore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gogo Gaztea in the 17th minute of play. In the 24th minute, Gogo Gaztea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Filiberto Gomez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnoldo Romano in the 28th minute of play. Sergio Aritza kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Cristian Mazuste charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristian Mazuste the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of AZ-Racing F.C. booed when Los Andes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Mazuste didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gogo Gaztea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nemesio Lore having to interfere. Nemesio Lore showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gogo Gaztea, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Nemesio Lore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gogo Gaztea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gogo Gaztea was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Los Andes's Sergio Aritza got a free kick in the 51st minute. AZ-Racing F.C.'s Gogo Gaztea managed to work through Los Andes's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Gogo Gaztea dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Arnoldo Romano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filiberto Gomez having to interfere. Miguel Patxi hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laureano Guifre in the 59th minute of play forced AZ-Racing F.C.'s goalkeeper Filiberto Gomez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th match minute, AZ-Racing F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvano Filipo to maneuver through the defense. Arnoldo Romano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Laureano Guifre came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Los Andes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laureano Guifre couldn't finish the play. Filiberto Gomez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnoldo Romano, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Vicente Felipo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nemesio Lore read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Vicente Felipo took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nemesio Lore. Nemesio Lore dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Miguel Patxi might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nemesio Lore. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miguel Patxi ran back to his position shaking his head. Vicente Felipo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Los Andes's Nemesio Lore got control of the ball when Vicente Felipo tried to sneak it across the goal line. AZ-Racing F.C.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
