Gabriel Inautzi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Sebastian Nesto kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Feliciano Aznar sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Boca Juniors's Gabriel Inautzi didn't even have to move. Gardey's Zacarias Fidele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teofilo Lop in the 27th minute of play. Gardey's Virgilio Laurin got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zacarias Fidele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teofilo Lop in the 31st minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Gardey's goalkeeper Zacarias Fidele had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elias Berart. Gabriel Inautzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedicto Cordarrel in the 35th minute of play. Teofilo Lop struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Zacarias Fidele didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca Juniors. Rene Telesforo charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rene Telesforo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Gardey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rene Telesforo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Elias Berart stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of Gardey:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Boca Juniors:s goal. In the 58th minute, Rene Telesforo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Berart in the 60th minute of play forced Gardey's goalkeeper Zacarias Fidele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zacarias Fidele stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elias Berart's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. The Gardey fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when Gardey's Benedicto Cordarrel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Boca Juniors's zone, Benedicto Cordarrel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Inautzi came out of the goal and Benedicto Cordarrel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Benedicto Cordarrel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Ramon Urre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Primitivo Ourente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Elias Berart's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zacarias Fidele was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. In the 86th minute, Elias Berart made a precise shot to the right of Zacarias Fidele. Gardey's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Teofilo Lop's late challenge caught a Gardey's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teofilo Lop helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teofilo Lop to maneuver through the defense. Elias Berart might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zacarias Fidele. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elias Berart ran back to his position shaking his head.
