The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mauricio Colas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 31 minutes, Nicolas Ado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Diablos Rojos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicolas Ado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Leopoldo Napier came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Diablos Rojos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leopoldo Napier couldn't finish the play. Nicolas Ado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauricio Colas having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Diablos Rojos's Leopoldo Napier sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mauricio Colas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Nicolas Ado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Diablos Rojos's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolas Ado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mauricio Colas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hugo Vargas charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hugo Vargas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 77th match minute, Zaparinqui FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Vargas to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Zaparinqui FC booed when Diablos Rojos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Guilabertus didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leopoldo Napier who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 85thth minute tested the skills of Mauricio Colas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leopoldo Napier during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Diablos Rojos getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Leopoldo Napier hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leopoldo Napier got free with Mauricio Colas in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 95th minute Nicolas Ado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauricio Colas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The attack was good, but when Leopoldo Napier in the 97th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The Zaparinqui FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Diablos Rojos were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
