Manantiales's Saverio Pitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amancio Goito in the 32nd minute of play. When Abelardo Donio came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Manantiales fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abelardo Donio couldn't finish the play. 39 minutes into the game, 7 de enero deportivo's Angelino Pirro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Manantiales's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abelardo Donio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paolo Neron blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Saverio Pitin having to make a save. When the match was over 7 de enero deportivo could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Manantiales throughout the match.
