The referee showed Clodoveo Cebrian the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Clodoveo Cebrian hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Fausto Lando kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Diego Xabel. That made the score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. A collision led to Diadema getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Luis Rafel hit a great ball. Jairo Telesforo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Honorato Soin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angel Peio came free with the goalkeeper in the 17th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Diego Xabel could save by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Jairo Telesforo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Diadema's supporters rose to their feet, but Jairo Telesforo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Honorato Soin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diadema's Cristobal Domenec got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Honorato Soin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Sidoro in the 27th minute of play. After 30 played minutes, Diadema's Clodoveo Cebrian shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Honorato Soin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Diadema reached it. 33 minutes into the match, Hersilia AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Severo Sidoro came free, but Honorato Soin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Diadema's Jairo Telesforo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Honorato Soin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jairo Telesforo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorato Soin having to interfere. If Jairo Telesforo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carmelo Maria to make the kick off. Diadema's Severo Sidoro got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oscar Montrel's late challenge caught a Diadema's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oscar Montrel helped the player get up and apologised. Oscar Montrel kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match.
