With a little luck, Boca Juniors's Isidro Laurentzi got control of the ball when Roman Eutropio tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oscar Nafarroa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Isidro Laurentzi came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Cienaguita's Prudencio Phelipe. But to his dismay, Prudencio Phelipe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Oscar Nafarroa's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Teofilo Raymundo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Oscar Nafarroa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Oscar Nafarroa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teofilo Raymundo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Cienaguita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melquiades Corderun didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oscar Nafarroa really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Boca Juniors were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Cienaguita to leave the ground with a draw.
