Isidro Laurentzi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Natalio Johans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Isidro Laurentzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Feliciano Quirze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saverio Avellaneda having to interfere. Isidro Laurentzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erasmo Giro in the 29th minute of the match. Isidro Laurentzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Gilen in the 33rd minute of play. Feliciano Quirze received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Saverio Avellaneda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Silvio Rencio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victoriano Oxarra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Saverio Avellaneda having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Casillas's zone, Feliciano Quirze stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Saverio Avellaneda came out of the goal and Feliciano Quirze tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Arturo Atarrabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Feliciano Quirze made a kick off. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Casillas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonzo Salvino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isidro Laurentzi didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 55th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. 62 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's Feliciano Quirze sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Saverio Avellaneda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Saverio Avellaneda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvio Rencio in the 65th minute of play. Feliciano Quirze sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Saverio Avellaneda came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Boca Juniors's Feliciano Quirze. But to his dismay, Feliciano Quirze quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Feliciano Quirze received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute.
