Spectators: 7250 (Terracing: 5439, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 144) Pájaro Negro's Paulo Ospin started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Paulo Ospin had several of the Club Atletico River Plate's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 5 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Roque Miliano as he didn't even see the shot coming. Pájaro Negro's Paulo Ospin got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atletico River Plate's goalkeeper Roque Miliano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Maximino Eufrasio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 23 minutes, Lorenzo Chorache mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atletico River Plate and the Pájaro Negro players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Club Atletico River Plate's Lorenzo Chorache got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Edgardo Mouricio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelino Delfino having to interfere. If Maximino Eufrasio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgardo Mouricio kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. A hard shot 35 in the game by Orlando Gutierrez from a close distance when the talented Roque Miliano managed to make a qualified save. Club Atletico River Plate's players were relieved. Roque Miliano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Ospin in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Ospin in the 41st minute of play forced Club Atletico River Plate's goalkeeper Roque Miliano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Club Atletico River Plate's goalkeeper Roque Miliano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orlando Gutierrez. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edgardo Mouricio to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, one of Club Atletico River Plate:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 56 minutes into the match, Celso Vimaro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roque Miliano. Club Atletico River Plate's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Celso Vimaro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 60 minutes into the game, Club Atletico River Plate's Maximino Eufrasio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Angelino Delfino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Roque Miliano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Gutierrez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Ospin in the 66th minute of play forced Club Atletico River Plate's goalkeeper Roque Miliano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Paulo Ospin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pájaro Negro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 72nd minute, Jose Loramendi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Maximino Eufrasio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atletico River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximino Eufrasio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angelino Delfino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maximino Eufrasio in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angelino Delfino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Roque Miliano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulo Ospin's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Paulo Ospin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Roque Miliano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th match minute, Club Atletico River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorenzo Chorache to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 97 minutes, Orlando Gutierrez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pájaro Negro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Orlando Gutierrez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atletico River Plate's zone, Orlando Gutierrez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roque Miliano came out of the goal and Orlando Gutierrez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
