An unexpectedly hard shot by Urbano Satordi in the 15th minute of play forced SuperCampeones's goalkeeper Teofilo Cesario to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Severo Maties might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sixto Chale. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Severo Maties ran back to his position shaking his head. Artemio Lluciano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Casimiro Fernanco's late challenge caught a Rosario Central's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
