Defensa F.C's Abel Gil got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 18 played minutes Milton FC got a freekick which was hit by Ruben Aires. The audience was convinced that Marcos Turi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernesto Harkaitz was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Abel Gil struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Ernesto Harkaitz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Defensa F.C. Milton FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Melquiades Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cornelio Aballe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cornelio Aballe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Melquiades Sancho in the 39th minute.
