After having played for 18 minutes, Domingos Illart managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rancagua FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingos Illart was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 23 minutes into the game, Timoteo Javiero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rancagua FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MONDNGO the free kick. Timoteo Javiero hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Isidoro Luzaide made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingos Illart in the 31st minute of play. Simon Ruisko hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. If Amado Emesto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Rancagua FC's Angelo Gartxot got control of the ball when Julian Shepherd tried to sneak it across the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Amancio Gonsalve was the one to do the kick off. Isidoro Luzaide took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amancio Gonsalve, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julian Shepherd took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Angelo Gartxot. Angelo Gartxot dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Angelo Gartxot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amado Emesto in the 65th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, MONDNGO's goal looked a bit too open when Amancio Gonsalve came free, but Isidoro Luzaide reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Domingos Illart left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rancagua FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Julian Shepherd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Angelo Gartxot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rancagua FC's Angelo Gartxot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Shepherd in the 81st minute of play. The supporters of MONDNGO booed when Rancagua FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Lehior didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Domingos Illart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
