FC Urquiza United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bermúdez the free kick. The supporters of Bermúdez booed when FC Urquiza United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santos Rainerio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Remigio Tiadoro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santo Rufo in the 25th minute of play. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Urquiza United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Celso Havier was slow to take the kick. During this time Bermúdez's players had a chance to rest. 59 minutes into the match, FC Urquiza United's goal looked a bit too open when Santo Rufo came free, but Remigio Tiadoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Santo Rufo struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Remigio Tiadoro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bermúdez. The FC Urquiza United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Remigio Tiadoro should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santos Rainerio got free with Jeremias Lluques in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Santo Rufo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remigio Tiadoro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play.
