The crowd rose to their feet as Angelino Ireno kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Honorio Columbo. That made the score 2-0 in the 43 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Angelino Ireno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mariano Ilixo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorio Columbo having to interfere. 74 minutes into the game, Hermengildo Claus was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ballester FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boca juniors the free kick. Carlos Cordario kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Honorio Columbo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelino Ireno, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ballester FC's goalkeeper Honorio Columbo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. During the 84th minute of the match Luisito Iago completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Luisito Iago a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Boca juniors booed when Ballester FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisito Iago didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mateo Iago hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Honorio Columbo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelino Ireno, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute.
