After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Honorio Oliveiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. After a defensive mix-up in Real Santa Fe's zone, Fidel Lain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nemesio Heriberto came out of the goal and Fidel Lain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gualterio Gaizko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nemesio Heriberto having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Jimeno Cristofol fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 44th match minute, Real Santa Fe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Godoy to maneuver through the defense. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
